Balayage-Ombre

Balayage-Ombre

When it comes to hair colour, things have completely changed in recent years and it’s not enough to rely on a one-dimensional DIY colour anymore.
These days it’s all about application and technique, So with new ideas being created almost on a weekly basis, you really need to be advised as to which technique is for you.
The first step is to come in and have a complimentary consultation,
So what's the difference we hear you ask......
Balayage
(To Sweep)

As one of the most popular hair colouring techniques being used everyday it's time to start with balayage, it was originally developed by French colourists in the 1970s and it comes from the French term "To sweep", it's more of a freehand hair colouring technique whereby highlights are painted on which means you get softer, more natural-looking results than you would with foils.
Ombré
(Shadow)

Ombré isn’t a hair colouring technique at all – it’s a gradient and when translated means "shadow" Balayage is the technique that’s commonly applied to achieve ombré hair colour. Lightener is placed horizontally on the bottom half of the hair, then blended upwards (rather than painted on in sections), to achieve a more noticeable gradient line. Not to be confused with dip-dye hair, ombre should have that caramel-coloured mid-section, so you don’t get such an extreme contrast.
